THE RIGHT SPOT.

Sunday Service

Giving: Exodus 36 : 1 – 5

Title: Importance of Putting Yourself on the Right Spot
Luke 19 : 1 – 10

A man named Zacchaeus.
V. 2 “He was a chief tax collector and was wealthy.”

Despite of everything he had.
V. 3a “HE WANTED TO SEE WHO JESUS WAS.”

V. 3b “BUT being a short man he could not, because of the crowd.”
When we start to seek God there will always be “but” experiences.

  • short man – personal limitation
  • crowd – external difficulties

Zacchaeus realized that he was on the wrong spot.
V.4 “So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see Him.”
Sycamore-fig tree – the right spot
When we are in the wrong spot we cannot see Jesus.
Ex. of wrong spot:
Living in sin, comfort zone and anything that hinder us to see God.

Zacchaeus was on the right spot when Jesus reach him.
V. 5 “When Jesus reach the spot, He looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.”

He only wants to see Jesus, but Jesus did something more than that.
V. 6 “So he came down at once and welcomed Him gladly.”

When Zacchaeus welcomed Jesus he was changed.
V. 8 “But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.”

My Application:

When we start to seek God, we need some effort to be on the right spot to see Him (V. 3-4). When He reach us, we welcome and obey Him gladly (V. 6). And if we are obedient to Him, we will see the changes He made in our lives (V. 8).

Masyado kong ninamnam yung message this Sunday. Ang ganda kasi e. Tamang-tama sakin. Kahit anong gawin ko, hindi ako makailag. 😀

Steps to be on the right spot:

1. Change your VALUE SYSTEM.
– Shifting from worldly things to spiritual things.
2. Get rid of all your EXCUSES.
– Excuses are simply covered lies.
3. Get out of the WRONG SPOT.
– If you stayed on the wrong spot, Jesus will not notice you.

Turning PASSION into STRATEGIC ACTION:

1. Think and RAN AHEAD!
2. Plan + EFFORT.
