Guarding Your Heart

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.

Proverbs 4:23

These past few days, God has been teaching me kung ano pa yung mas malalim na ibig sabihin ng guarding your heart.. At sa mga sitwasyon na meron ako right now, dun pinakita sakin ng Lord na ang pag-ga-guard sa heart is not just about emotions. Hindi tulad ng inaakala ng marami. Malapit ko nang matapos yung iLove na book, and ang pinakaunang inintroduce sakin ng Lord through that book is that a woman after His heart knows how to guard her heart.

🙂 Whew.

Just like what Hannah did. Oha. And tonight, I do believe that God changed my heart. (with conviction.)

G12 National Conference. Ang aking natutunan. :)

Tatlong Bagay:

1. By Faith, I’m BEAUTIFUL. Kabog! Hehe! Unang-una talaga eh noh?! Actually, may malalim akong pagkakaintindi dito. That is: BY FAITH I CAN CONQUER ANYTHING I WANT. (Kahit face ko. Haha.)

Faith is doing, following and trusting God without asking any questions.

2. Quit, quitter! Dito ko nalaman na quitting is a character trait. Kaya as a follower of Jesus Christ, we must never quit sa mga task na pinapagawa Niya satin. Hindi din naman Siya nag-quit diba?

And the third one is..

3. I can do great things for Him. As one of His chosen people I am more than a conqueror. Hindi lang ako hanggang dito. I do believe na marami pa kong magagawa for Him. I can lead, I can speak, I can preach about His message of love. 🙂

Actually, marami talaga kong natutunan..

THE RIGHT SPOT.

Sunday Service

Giving: Exodus 36 : 1 – 5

Title: Importance of Putting Yourself on the Right Spot
Luke 19 : 1 – 10

A man named Zacchaeus.
V. 2 “He was a chief tax collector and was wealthy.”

Despite of everything he had.
V. 3a “HE WANTED TO SEE WHO JESUS WAS.”

V. 3b “BUT being a short man he could not, because of the crowd.”
When we start to seek God there will always be “but” experiences.

  • short man – personal limitation
  • crowd – external difficulties

Zacchaeus realized that he was on the wrong spot.
V.4 “So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see Him.”
Sycamore-fig tree – the right spot
When we are in the wrong spot we cannot see Jesus.
Ex. of wrong spot:
Living in sin, comfort zone and anything that hinder us to see God.

Zacchaeus was on the right spot when Jesus reach him.
V. 5 “When Jesus reach the spot, He looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.”

He only wants to see Jesus, but Jesus did something more than that.
V. 6 “So he came down at once and welcomed Him gladly.”

When Zacchaeus welcomed Jesus he was changed.
V. 8 “But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.”

My Application:

When we start to seek God, we need some effort to be on the right spot to see Him (V. 3-4). When He reach us, we welcome and obey Him gladly (V. 6). And if we are obedient to Him, we will see the changes He made in our lives (V. 8).

Masyado kong ninamnam yung message this Sunday. Ang ganda kasi e. Tamang-tama sakin. Kahit anong gawin ko, hindi ako makailag. 😀

Steps to be on the right spot:

1. Change your VALUE SYSTEM.
– Shifting from worldly things to spiritual things.
2. Get rid of all your EXCUSES.
– Excuses are simply covered lies.
3. Get out of the WRONG SPOT.
– If you stayed on the wrong spot, Jesus will not notice you.

Turning PASSION into STRATEGIC ACTION:

1. Think and RAN AHEAD!
2. Plan + EFFORT.
